Jeff Seymour

Jeff Seymour | Consultant

Born in Mosgiel, raised and schooled in Dunedin, Jeff completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting) degree at Otago University  while working part-time. He joined Shand Thomson in 1983 after working for a large Dunedin accounting practice over a period of nine years.

Jeff became a partner of the practice in 1985. He has many years experience in all fields of business advice and has a wide range of clients, including many in the forestry, farming and transport sectors. He is particularly knowledgeable regarding employment, business planning, and family succession.

Jeff served four terms on the Clutha District Council, three of these as Chair of the Corporate Services Committee. He was also an integral part of securing the Cross Recreation Centre for the Clutha District, chairing the Steering Committee that secured the funding and oversaw the $5 million build. He went on to become the inaugural Chair of the Charitable Trust that runs the Centre and has only recently retired from the committee after 12 years service.

Jeff's services to the community were recognised by Chartered Accountants Australia New Zealand when he was awarded Fellowship status in 2015.

Jeff is married to Kerry and they have three adult children and a fast expanding, much treasured group of grandchildren. They like to catch up with them in Christchurch, Dunedin, and Wanaka whenever they can. Jeff enjoys many sports, the outdoors and has been prepared to give most things a go. His recreational highlights include completing the Sydney Marathon in 2000 and climbing Mt Aspiring with Bill Thomson some years ago.
