Originating from Tuatapere in Southland, Carolyn completed a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting with First Class Honours) at the University of Otago in 2001. She has worked in accountancy in both Invercargill and Dunedin and was appointed to a senior leadership role in a large Dunedin practice in 2004. Carolyn joined the team at Shand Thomson as an Associate in October 2009.
Carolyn has experience in assisting small to medium sized enterprises from start up phase through to succession planning. She offers accounting services and business advice in areas such as profit improvement, business planning, relationship property, analysis and implementation of small business accounting systems, and has a particular interest in the field of fashion, construction and related trades.
Carolyn is a current director of Orokonui Ecosantuary Limited, Trustee of the Anglican Family Care Centre Board, and is a founding member and past president of Burns BNI (Business Network International) in Dunedin. She was also a founding member of the Dunedin branch of "Her Business" and co-ordinated the network for several years encouraging and inspiring women in business.
